Has anyone used non-electricians to remove dead front panel covers for IR Scanning? We are considering this, and would provide the proper Arc Rated PPE and training. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Suggest using qualified personnel to remove the covers one time to install IR windows to eliminate the hazard going forward.

If they are properly trained, per the employer's electrical safe work program, then they become qualified to perform a specific task.

NFPA70E does not use the term electrician. Few companies have an 'all or none' qualification process.
