Just over a week since SKM 7.0 available. Any experiences yet with the new version? My update is scheduled for March 30 installation. The enhancement list is substantial, available at the SKM website. Lists 23 enhancements for arc flash and many others for TCCs and general modeling. |

I am also waiting for 7.0 comments. I am still using 6.5 on the projects I have. On a new one I'll jump to 7.0. |

Our understanding from SKM is that Ver. 7 is not backwardly compatible with Ver. 6. And, if you upgrade your hardware key for Ver. 7, you won't be able to run Ver. 6 without a separate license. How do you handle using existing client SKM models where the client does not upgrade to Ver. 7? If you make changes to the model in Ver. 7, the client will not be able to use the model. I think there needs to be a way to use Ver. 6 for existing models and Ver. 7 for new projects. Until this gets resolved, we are not implementing the upgrade even though is has some very good enhancements. |
