We have people who do ir testing of our main switchgear by testing from the front of the gear, my opinion is that i don't think you can test much from the front. Can we put some type of window or sliding cover on the back cover panel for a better view ? The cover panels are about 3' wide and 7' high. This access would test the wiring connections along with swichgear connections. Open for any suggestions. |

There are several manufactures that make IR windows for this purpose. |

What you should do is to place IR windows on anywhere that needs scanning, typically IR windows are a couple of inches and you would need 2-4 windows, they are fairly inexpensive and easy to install, about 300 bucks per window, some IR providers are: Iris IR Flir Gratton Infrared Services |
