Dealer quote for Range Rover Sport AC evaporator is insane, any honest alternatives in Sharjah? Took my 2015 Range Rover Sport into the dealer last week because the AC has been blowing cool but never actually cold no matter how long I drive and the smell from the vents when you first turn it on is borderline embarrassing, and after two days of diagnostics they called me with a quote that made me genuinely laugh out loud in the middle of a meeting because apparently the evaporator is leaking and they want to remove the entire dashboard to replace it which on a Range Rover is basically a mortgage payment's worth of labor hours, and I'm sitting here wondering if there's any other way because the car drives perfectly fine otherwise and I'm not about to dump that kind of money into a nine year old truck even if I do love it. I've been searching around for a Reliable Land Rover AC Workshop Sharjah that might be willing to tackle the dreaded dash out evaporator job without the premium dealer markup, because I know it's a miserable job and nobody wants to do it but surely there's a shop out here that's done enough of them on the L494 chassis to know all the tricks and maybe charge a rate that doesn't require me to sell an organ. Anyone actually had their evaporator replaced locally on a Sport or a full size and lived to tell about it without their dashboard squeaking like a haunted house afterwards, because I'm trying to figure out if I should just buy a portable fan and accept my fate or if there's actually a competent independent who can do this job properly. |
