x2.. But also depends on where you look... There are still the companies out there that are oblivious to arc flash, permits, inspections and the costs that it takes to make their work place safer...

Slowly improving.

During industrial visits, I see more often now than 5 years ago arc flash labels and electricians wearing electrical PPE.

But, not even near from everywhere yet.

Depends a lot on the local occupational safety and health inspector, and the frequency (or lack thereof) of their visits.

I've been doing a couple presentations on that subject in the last years, and still a lot of people in industrial settings are thinking of it as if it is "new" requirements.

I talked to a plant operator yesterday about some changes and some fixes that they should consider picking away at (covers missing on junction boxes, cables that are not properly supported or isolated) and he asked, "Is there a new directive telling us to do all this?"...
I said, "Well these are things that the electrical inspectors are looking for.."
His reply "Oh.. Well that is ok, because we don't get electrical inspections done." Which is true for the past 4 years AT LEAST...
