Post subject:  PPE care for long life

Hi I'm new to the site and recently purchased a PPE suit. I was trying to search for caring of my suit so its integrity is not compromised and it lasts a long time. I was wondering if anyone would have any information for me? Would it shorten its life by storing the suit on my truck during the summer heat?
thanks in advance

You should have recieved documentation from the supplier on care and laundering. What material is your suit?

Your best bet is to follow the manufactures reccommended care instructions.

The material is ultra soft by Westex - I'll get in touch with them and see what they suggest. Thanks

Westex has a cleaning and maintenance guide on their website; however, I did not see anything about storage temperatures.

Salisbury has a guide on care and inspection of rubber goods.

I e-mailed my Westex technical contact and they said there should not be a problem storing an FR garment of their fabric in a car in the heat of the summer.

Good for you for being so proactive about your PPE suit! Just like any other tool, you have to take care of your protective equipment. Don't want to find out at the wrong time that something is wearing out.
