Everything I have learned about electrical safety has been on my own. Purchased NFPA 70E a couple of revisions ago and have tried to keep updated ever since. Most recently I purchased a couple of Jim's products and broadened my knowledge base a little further.

We carry out in house training on electrical safety, LV and HV isolation and switching refreshers every 2 years on our sites and that covers electrical contractors, opertions staff and I&E Maintenance staff. Although operations staff don't carry out HV switching they are required to be competent as saftey observers for switching operations
